Until Pheasant Season Begins
East of I-25: Nov. 10 - Jan. 21 | West of I-25: Nov. 10 - Jan. 1
Pheasants Forever is a national, non-profit organization which works for the conservation and improvement of pheasant habitat across the United States. The Northeast Colorado Chapter of Pheasants Forever covers Logan, and N.E. Weld counties. We cooperate with the Colorado Division of Wildlife and other Pheasants Forever Chapters to identify, fund and construct habitat projects in Northeastern Colorado.
The adult pheasant is 50-90 cm in length with a long tail, often accounting for half the total length. The male has barred bright brown plumage and green, purple and white markings, often including a white ring around the neck, and the head is green with distinctive red patches. This bird is also called the Common or English Pheasant, or just Pheasant.
Pheasants don't need much to survive. With a wind break to protect from the winter winds, adequate food, and abundant nesting cover, pheasants can flourish. Pheasants forever exists to ensure that these habitats are improved and increased. See our Habitat section to learn more about pheasant habitat projects in northeast Colorado.
The national Pheasants Forever organization is made of up local chapters from states across the nation. Each individual chapter raises its own money and spends it locally on habit projects. If you are interested in membership with Pheasants Forever, you can visit their website, www.pheasantsforever.org, or you can call 1-877-773-2070. Membership allows you to join the chapter of your choice.
